Lifestyle Along With Diet- Keys to Longevitiy

Part 5 of my interview with a very healthy octogenarian:

Q: It’s interesting that you mention that about dairy and the cheese, and the Associations and it seems  interesting that the government provides free milk and cheese as part of their services for folks who need that assistance.  And if we now know that those particular parts of the diet cause,  illness, here we are with the same population that,  are getting the free food and dairy products, and are getting sick and then we’re having to pay with Medicaid or Medicare for their health needs to be able to be taken care of after they’ve gotten sick.  So it’s kind of a Catch 22 there.  Let’s talk a little bit about regimen.

Do you think a daily regimen and sort of lifestyle also plays into this whole wellness aspect?

A: Well, yes, it does.  There are – there are – Well, George Malkmus, for instance in his literature, talks about a 24-hours of the day – and our body has a, during that 24-hour cycle, he maintains that from 4:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon each day is detoxing time for your body.  That’s when your body gets rid of the poisons and all of the other material it hasn’t used for good health.  And then from 12:00 noon until 8 o’clock at night, it’s the time to eat your meal, eat your full meal.  And then from 12 o’clock – from noontime to 8:00 p.m.  And then from 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 in the morning is when your body is assimilating and separating the vitamins and minerals to go into your blood stream.  And again, the cycle starts at 4:00 a.m. until the next noon for detoxing time.  So people who eat at any time, and anything they want, of course, are going to run into difficulty.  But if you follow this regimen, that the best time to eat really is from noontime until 8 o’clock at night, now that doesn’t say that you’re not supposed to have something for breakfast.

Yes, you can have a light breakfast, but mostly fluids and, of course, there are those people who maintain that a form of barley, whether it’s a barley green or barley max, or whether it’s super blue-green algae, but those are vitamins and minerals in natural foods. And you take that in the morning, and along with a piece of fruit, and part of your regimen is to go out and do your walk in the morning.  And after you get your walk, you do your shower and then go to work.  And for those of us who are retired, well, we have things to do.

We may have to make plans to be active because you’re not supposed to be a couch potato, so whether your work in the yard or whether you go play games, or whether you go do other things, but you tend to your personal needs.  And then at noontime, there are those people who believe in the plant foods that you juice, and that means carrot juice.  And there are many, many things that you can use.  But one of the favorites that are very popular, and it’s all perfect vitamins for you, is to use a juicer and they’re very easily available.

One of Julian Whitaker, for instance, has one called a Miracle Juicer and then a guy – the people who produce a Champion Juicer, who is a masticating juicer rather than a pulverizing unit.
